Best Weekend Ever

Alright, so it's my third week here in Chicago and I gotta say, I'm getting pretty homesick/Delaware sick. It's tough being in a city entirely by yourself! Luckily, this past weekend my boyfriend Zack came to visit me for four days. It was by far the best time I've had since I've been here. Of course though, it was the coldest weekend I've experienced in Chicago thus far. It was in the highs of like, -2 degrees! No joke, I'm completely serious. We still managed to have a great time though. We went to Millennium park, which has this 40 foot or so giant metallic bean! It's seriously one of the coolest things to see. You can see your reflection and walk under it and it's just ridiculous. We went to Navy Pier which is like an outdoor/indoor shopping carnival like tourist spot right on the water. We went and saw Jersey Boys which was really awesome. I'd def. recommend seeing it. We also went shopping down Michigan Ave. and of course, got Chicago deep dish pizza! It by far surpasses any type of east coast pizza you've ever had. So all in all, it was amazing and now it makes me miss home even more.
Well, now that I'm back at work, it's been going pretty well. I've been doing some more designing for Kraftmaid and I think I'll be helping with designing a new website for them. Me and this other designer Jenn are still waiting on the ok to start redesigning their design packet, so hopefully we'll get to start that soon so I can maybe put it in my portfolio. I've also been helping design a promotional packet for Special K's 2 Week Challenge. Supposedly you can lose like, 2 inches off your waist if you eat nothing but Special K. So me and this other designer are working on a packet explaining the challenge and promoting the brand. I've also just been briefed on some big project for Nintendo. The pitch for it is on the 4th so luckily I'll be here for that since my last day is on the 6th! Lucky me :) So I'm looking forward to that and we'll see how it goes.
As far as the weather is concerned, it's gotten a lot warmer these past couple of days. It's now in the 20's! Lol, that's actually pretty warm for Chicago. I'm definitely enjoying not freezing my butt off. Also, this is entirely random but I thought it was worth mentioning. So one of our clients is Miller Light and for whatever reason our fridge gets stocked every few days with Miller Light! Yes so basically my work is promoting drinking on the job. Hey, I'm not complaining.
